Webster's dictionary defines a fetish as a 'pathological displacement' of erotic interest. Most fetishes develop from a pleasurable moment as a kid while your mother, your baby sitter or your siblings wore a pair of heels, scratched your back, or gave you some pleasurable moment of acceptance. Fetishes are learned, adopted and developed over many years. They do not develop by themselves upon your birth, rather they are an evolution of your experiences and environment. I tell my patients that for the most part, women tend to look for responsibility and stability in a mate while males look for acceptance. Otherwise, the home will never be balanced and they will end up loosing control without their consent. The woman rules the home, the relationship and the sexual outlets that will be allowed. Without full submission, the male will be forced to seek sexual fulfillment (acceptance) outside of the marriage which will ultimately result in separation, divorce and submission to another woman whether they realize it or not. That Audi, Mercedes, BMW, loft apartment, diamond ring, 'Special Vacation', and the extravagant dinners are not free.
